Framework Description
Apple Equipment & Associated Services is a framework agreement tendered by NWUPC (North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium) for universities and colleges. It covers Apple hardware and the services that go with it. The current term runs from 18 September 2025 to 17 July 2027, with an option to extend by 24 months to 17 July 2029. This framework is used by NWUPC, SUPC and APUC.
Context & Use Case
IT services teams, creative and media departments and research groups that standardise on Mac and iPad use it for device refreshes, loan schemes and lab equipment. Buyers can call off directly or run a mini-competition among the appointed suppliers, so a small repeat order and a campus-wide refresh can both go through the same agreement.

Who Can Apply
Suits Apple authorised resellers and education-focused IT suppliers. Applications for this framework are closed, so new suppliers cannot join until NWUPC re-lets it, likely ahead of 17 July 2027 or, if the 24-month extension is used, July 2029. Appointed suppliers compete for orders from member institutions.
Buyer Benefits
Institutions get Apple devices from resellers that have already been evaluated, with pricing and service terms set at framework level. Direct award suits urgent or repeat orders, while mini-competition lets a university test value on a large refresh. Because NWUPC let the agreement, demand is pooled across institutions in more than one purchasing consortium.
Next Steps
Appointed resellers should make sure APUC member institutions know they are on the framework and can buy from it directly. Other suppliers should check NWUPC's tender schedule for the re-let and prepare Apple accreditation evidence, education references and service-level data. Watch for the decision on the 24-month extension, as it sets the re-tender timing.
How Athena Can Help
Athena helps appointed resellers turn mini-competitions on large device refreshes into wins, using competitor scoring and win themes built around delivery, deployment and aftercare.
If you missed the 2025 award, our framework registration team can plan your route onto the next NWUPC tender and assemble the case studies and policies it will ask for. Our public sector bidding help also covers pricing hardware so it wins on cost while protecting the margin on service.
