Framework Description
APUC's Electrical Sundries framework is a single-lot agreement for the supply of electrical sundries to all higher and further education institutions. It covers the fittings, wiring accessories, lighting components and consumables used in estates maintenance. The current term ends on 31 March 2027, with an option to extend by 24 months to 31 March 2029.
Context & Use Case
University and college estates and maintenance teams use it for day-to-day electrical repairs, small works and refurbishments. Orders tend to be frequent, varied and urgent, so product range and fast delivery matter. With one lot, all appointed suppliers can compete for each requirement. The notice is on Public Contracts Scotland (NOV519059).

Who Can Apply
Suits electrical wholesalers and distributors with stock and delivery coverage across Scotland. Applications for this framework are closed, so suppliers not already appointed cannot join until APUC re-tenders it, likely before 31 March 2027 or, if the 24-month extension is used, March 2029.
Buyer Benefits
Estates teams need electrical parts quickly and at known prices. A framework gives them agreed price lists and delivery terms with suppliers already checked on product standards, and avoids running a tender for routine maintenance stock. Energy-efficient lighting options also help institutions meet carbon targets.
Next Steps
Appointed suppliers should make sure maintenance teams at member institutions know their range and delivery options. Others should watch the extension decision due by March 2027, then prepare pricing, branch coverage and product compliance evidence for APUC's re-tender. Sustainability data on packaging and energy-efficient products will strengthen a bid.
