EV Charging Infrastructure

Live

Framework Description

EV Charging Infrastructure (SXL 2119) is a Scotland Excel framework agreement made available to APUC member institutions. Its four lots cover supply, installation and maintenance together, supply only, installation only, and maintenance only of electric vehicle charging equipment and associated items. It ends on 29 December 2026 with no extension, so it has less than three months to run.

Context & Use Case

Councils, universities and colleges use it to install charge points for fleets, staff and visitors, and to keep existing chargers maintained. The lot structure lets a buyer take a full turnkey service or buy equipment, installation and maintenance separately. Projects ordered before 29 December 2026 may run on under their own contract terms.

Who Can Apply

Suits charge point manufacturers, electrical installers and maintenance contractors. Applications for this framework are closed and it ends on 29 December 2026, so new suppliers cannot join. The next opportunity would be any replacement EV charging framework that Scotland Excel advertises.

Buyer Benefits

EV charging projects involve grid connections, groundworks and long-term maintenance, so buyers want suppliers already checked on competence and product standards. Separate lots let them buy turnkey or in parts, and a Scotland Excel agreement avoids each council or university running its own tender.

Next Steps

Search Public Contracts Scotland and Scotland Excel's procurement schedule now for any replacement (the original notice was AUG456547). Prepare installation case studies, accreditations, maintenance response data and reliability figures. Appointed suppliers have until 29 December 2026 to win orders under the current agreement.
