Life Sciences Equipment, Materials & Services

Live

Framework Description

Life Sciences Equipment, Materials & Services (LAB2010 NE) is a framework let by NEUPC (North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium). It has three lots, equipment, materials and services, for life sciences teaching and research. It started on 11 April 2023 and ends on 10 April 2027, with no further extension. This framework is used by NEUPC, APUC, SUPC and NWUPC.

Context & Use Case

Biology, biomedical and health sciences departments use the equipment lot for instruments such as PCR thermocyclers, DNA sequencers, flow cytometers, cell sorters and microplate readers, and the materials lot to keep labs supplied. Purchases range from single instruments bought on research grants to recurring consumables and related services. The framework is shared with other UK university purchasing consortia.

Scope of Services

Lot 1: Equipment, such as thermocyclers, DNA sequencers, flow cytometers and microplate readers Lot 2: Materials Lot 3: Services

Lots

Lot 1 - Equipment; Lot 2 - Materials; Lot 3 - Services

Who Can Apply

Suits life sciences instrument manufacturers, reagent and consumables suppliers, and providers of laboratory services. Applications for this framework are closed and it ends on 10 April 2027 without an extension, so NEUPC's re-tender is the next opportunity and may be advertised within months.

Buyer Benefits

Departments can buy instruments and materials from suppliers already evaluated by a university consortium, which saves time when grant money must be spent quickly. Having equipment, materials and services in one agreement means a lab can source an instrument, its consumables and related services on consistent terms.

Next Steps

With no extension beyond 10 April 2027, watch NEUPC's procurement notices for the replacement now. Prepare university references, product range details, delivery performance data and service level evidence. Appointed suppliers should keep responding to call-offs and record outcomes to use in their re-tender bid.

How Athena Can Help

NEUPC's replacement for this framework is likely to be tendered soon. We can give an early bid/no-bid view on whether it suits your range and capacity, then start framework application drafting: selection questions, policies and case studies.

When the tender is live, our full bid management takes you from plan to submission, including quality responses, competitor analysis and pricing that wins on value, with a compliance check before anything is submitted.
