Removals and Relocations Services

Live

Framework Description

Removals and Relocations Services (reference FFE2009 NE) is a framework let by NEUPC (North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium) (Find a Tender notice 038348-2024). It has 5 lots, from general and specialist commercial moves to crates, domestic and international moves. It runs from 1 May 2025 to 30 April 2029, with no extension. This framework is used by APUC, SUPC and NWUPC.

Context & Use Case

Estates teams use it for office and department moves, specialist moves of laboratory and high-value equipment, crate hire during refurbishments, and staff relocations, including international moves for new academics. Splitting low-risk and high-risk commercial moves into separate lots lets buyers match the mover to the value and fragility of what is being moved.

Who Can Apply

Suits commercial movers, specialist equipment relocation firms, crate hire companies and domestic and international removals firms. Applications for this framework are closed, and it runs to 30 April 2029, so firms not appointed cannot join until NEUPC re-tenders it.

Buyer Benefits

Separate risk-based lots mean a valuable microscope is moved by specialists while routine office moves go to general movers at lower cost. Domestic and international lots support staff relocation packages, helping institutions recruit from overseas with a reliable, pre-agreed moving service.

Next Steps

Read the Find a Tender notice (038348-2024) to see the lots and award criteria. Appointed firms should target estates teams planning refurbishments and HR teams managing relocations. Others should seek subcontracting roles and plan for a re-tender ahead of 30 April 2029.

How Athena Can Help

For appointed movers, call-offs are won on planning detail, risk control and price. Our relocation bid writers set out method statements and risk controls clearly against the criteria, with pricing that wins.

Firms outside the framework can use our framework access planning to find other open removals frameworks and plan for NEUPC's 2029 re-tender. Our public sector bidding consultants cover bid/no-bid decisions and social value. We also run a Bid Health Check before every submission.
