Framework Description

Residential Textiles is a framework let by NWUPC (North Western Universities Purchasing Consortium) for university accommodation (Find a Tender notice 005062-2025). It has 4 lots covering textiles and student and conference packs, window coverings, managed linen hire and laundry, and laundry of member-owned linen. It runs from 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2029, with an option to extend by 12 months to 28 February 2030. This framework is used by NWUPC, SUPC and APUC.

Context & Use Case

Accommodation and conference teams use it to furnish student residences, supply bedding packs for new students and conference guests, fit curtains and blinds, and outsource laundry. Linen hire suits institutions with large conference and summer letting businesses, while the member-owned linen lot suits those that prefer to own their stock.

Who Can Apply

Suits textile suppliers, student pack providers, curtain and blind makers, and commercial laundries. Applications for this framework are closed, so suppliers not appointed cannot join until NWUPC re-tenders it, around 28 February 2029 or 2030 if extended.

Buyer Benefits

Separate lots let accommodation teams choose between buying and hiring linen, and buy window coverings from specialists who measure and fit. Student and conference packs simplify arrival for residents and guests, and agreed terms make it easier to plan for peak periods at the start of term and in summer.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should plan capacity for September arrivals and summer conference seasons. Others should read the Find a Tender notice (005062-2025) for last time's criteria, look for subcontract laundry or textile supply roles, and prepare sustainability evidence such as textile recycling for the re-tender around 2029.

How Athena Can Help

For appointed suppliers, our accommodation sector bid support helps win call-offs with win themes on peak-season capacity, quality and sustainability.

With applications closed until 2029, others should look elsewhere first. Our textiles framework search finds open frameworks for linen, laundry and furnishings and prepares applications, and our bidding strategy support covers pricing that stays profitable over a multi-year contract. Drafts are compliance-checked before submission, and a Bid Health Check fixes any weak answers before the deadline.
