Student Assistance and Support Services

Live

Framework Description

Student Assistance and Support Services is an APUC framework for universities and colleges in Scotland, with two lots: a Full Student Support Service and a Student Wellbeing Tool. Applications for this framework are closed (it is not a DPS). The term began on 10 August 2026 and runs to 9 August 2029, with an option to extend by 12 months to 9 August 2030.

Context & Use Case

Student services and wellbeing teams use it to give students support beyond their in-house counselling and advice teams, either through a full external support service or through a digital wellbeing tool. It suits institutions that want extra capacity alongside their own services, or a resource students can use independently whenever they need it.

Who Can Apply

This framework started in August 2026 and applications are closed; no new suppliers can join until APUC re-tenders it, due around 9 August 2029, or 9 August 2030 if extended. Student assistance providers and wellbeing app developers outside it should plan towards that date.

Buyer Benefits

Student wellbeing is high on university agendas, and buyers want providers who can work alongside institutional services. Separate service and tool lots let an institution add a digital tool without replacing an existing support service, or buy both, from providers already assessed through APUC's tender.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should build relationships with student services teams at APUC member institutions now, early in the term. Other providers should read the notice on Public Contracts Scotland (SEP565299) to see what was evaluated, then gather higher education evidence, safeguarding policies and outcome data ahead of the re-tender.

How Athena Can Help

For appointed suppliers, the next three years are about winning call-offs from individual universities and colleges. Athena's help with call-off bids brings win themes, competitor scoring and pricing to each one.

For providers outside the framework, we offer support with APUC applications, building case studies, safeguarding policies and social value evidence ahead of the re-tender, and early bid planning so the decision to compete is made with time to spare.
