Framework Description
Barcud Shared Services' Electrical Services Framework is an eight-year open framework, open to any public body, running to 13 September 2034. It has two lots: electrical inspection, testing and solar PV inspections, and electrical rewiring works. As an open framework, it can be reopened during its term to admit new contractors.
Context & Use Case
Public bodies responsible for buildings use it to commission periodic electrical inspection and testing, solar PV inspections, and full or partial rewires. Because any public body can use it, appointed contractors may receive call-offs from organisations beyond Barcud's own members, and buyers avoid running separate electrical tenders for routine compliance work.
Scope of Services
Lot 1 - Electrical Inspection, Testing and Solar PV Inspections Lot 2 - Electrical Rewiring Works Electrical services for any public body using the framework
Lots
Lot 1 - Electrical Inspection, Testing and Solar PV Inspections; Lot 2 - Electrical Rewiring Works
Who Can Apply
Electrical contractors with inspection and testing or rewiring experience and the relevant accreditations suit this framework, and solar PV inspection capability helps on Lot 1. As an open framework, new contractors can join when it reopens; check Find a Tender for the current window.
Buyer Benefits
Buyers get competent electrical contractors for safety-critical inspection and testing and for rewiring programmes, on an eight-year arrangement that can take on new firms as needs change. Open access for any public body means smaller organisations can use it without their own tender.
Next Steps
Read the Barcud Shared Services notice on Find a Tender (083404-2026) to check whether applications are open now. Choose your lot, then prepare accreditations, insurances, qualified electrician and inspector records, solar PV competence for Lot 1, and public sector or social housing references.
How Athena Can Help
An eight-year open framework is worth getting right first time. Athena's open framework registration prepares your application, selection answers and accreditations, with a compliance check before submission.
Once you are on, our call-off tender writing builds priced responses to each requirement, and our bidding advice for electrical contractors helps you decide between the inspection and rewiring lots, and where you can price competitively and still make a margin. If you miss a window, we plan for the next reopening.
