Framework Description
Barcud Shared Services is establishing an eight-year open framework for roofing and solar work, running to 6 September 2034. It has three lots: pitched roofs, flat roofs, and solar installation and repair, and contractors can bid for any number of lots. The procurement is coming soon, so contractors have time to prepare before the first round opens.
Context & Use Case
Public bodies will use it for roof repairs and replacements, and for installing and repairing solar panels as they pursue renewable energy goals. Separate pitched and flat roof lots let buyers choose specialists for each roof type, and the solar lot covers both new installations and repairs to existing systems.
Scope of Services
Lot 1 - Pitched Roofs Lot 2 - Flat Roofs Lot 3 - Solar Installation and Repair
Lots
Lot 1 - Pitched Roofs; Lot 2 - Flat Roofs; Lot 3 - Solar Installation and Repair
Who Can Apply
Roofing contractors and solar installers can apply for one or more lots. As an open framework, it should reopen during its term to admit new suppliers, but preparing for the first round gives the earliest access to work.
Buyer Benefits
Buyers get vetted specialists for each roof type and for solar, under an eight-year arrangement that supports long-term maintenance and replacement programmes. Reopenings let them refresh the supplier pool over time, which keeps competition alive, and separate lots mean roofing and solar work each go to contractors with the right skills.
Next Steps
Read the Barcud Shared Services notice on Find a Tender (068599-2026) and register with Barcud's procurement portal ahead of the tender. Prepare accreditations, solar installer credentials, insurances, health and safety records for work at height, and roofing case studies for each lot you target.
How Athena Can Help
Coming-soon frameworks give contractors time to prepare properly, and with three lots the choice of where to bid matters. Athena's bid planning for roofing firms helps you decide which lots to target, and our first-round framework support prepares accreditations and case studies before the tender opens.
When it does, our bid management team writes the quality responses, models pricing and runs a Bid Health Check before submission. If you miss the first round, we plan for the next reopening.
