B546/26 Framework for High Visibility, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), Workwear And Uniforms

Coming soon

Framework Description

Bridgend County Borough Council's framework B546/26 covers the supply of high-visibility clothing, personal protective equipment, workwear and uniforms. It is a single-lot framework, published on Find a Tender under notice 096249-2026. The award notice was published on 12 October 2026, and the framework is due to run from 2 November 2026 to 1 November 2028, with options to extend by up to two 12-month periods to 1 November 2030.

Context & Use Case

The Council will use the framework to equip its operational and outdoor workforce with compliant PPE and hi-vis, and to supply uniforms and workwear for staff in public-facing and service roles. A single lot means one route covers clothing and protective items together, so departments can order safety items and uniforms from the same appointed suppliers rather than buying separately. Orders are placed as staff join or kit needs replacing.

Who Can Apply

Suits PPE distributors, workwear suppliers and uniform specialists able to supply items certified to the relevant EN or BS standards. The procurement has closed and the award has been announced, so suppliers not selected cannot join during this term. The next opportunity is likely around 1 November 2028, or 1 November 2030 if extended.

Buyer Benefits

The Council gets certified safety clothing and uniforms from vetted suppliers without separate tenders for each department. A framework also helps with consistent sizing, branding and stock replacement. Buyers will value certified products, reliable delivery, size ranges that fit the whole workforce and quick replacement of worn or damaged items.

Next Steps

The award notice of 12 October 2026 starts the standstill period, after which the framework begins on 2 November 2026. Appointed suppliers should prepare product catalogues, sizing and ordering processes for council departments. Others should note the end date of 1 November 2028 and the possible extension to 1 November 2030, and look for other Welsh public sector PPE and workwear tenders in the meantime.

How Athena Can Help

This Bridgend framework has just been awarded, so if you missed out, the focus is on what comes next. Athena can run a Bid Health Check on your last submission to find where it fell short, and our search for open frameworks identifies other PPE and workwear routes open now across Wales and the UK.

For appointed suppliers, we provide help with public sector bids on any further competitions, including pricing that still protects margin on low-value, high-volume items.
