Establishing A Framework For Consultancy On Disability Inclusion

Live

Framework Description

The British Council has established a single-lot framework for consultancy on disability inclusion. It gives the organisation access to specialist consultants who can help embed disability inclusion across its arts, education, communities and English language programmes. The framework runs for six years, from 22 June 2026 to 18 June 2032, with no extension option.

Context & Use Case

British Council teams in the UK and overseas will call on consultants to advise on inclusive policy, design programmes that disabled people can take part in fully, and improve delivery approaches. Work may range from strategic policy advice to support for individual programmes in particular countries. The aim is to make arts, education, communities and English language activities more inclusive of disabled participants and audiences.

Who Can Apply

Suits disability inclusion consultancies and specialist practitioners, including disabled-led organisations, with experience in international, cultural or education settings. The framework has been awarded and is live, so new consultants cannot join until it is re-tendered, likely ahead of 18 June 2032.

Buyer Benefits

A framework gives the British Council quick access to expert advice across its global programmes without tendering each time. Buyers will value lived experience of disability, knowledge of disability rights in different countries, practical guidance that programme teams can apply, and evidence that past advice improved inclusion.

Next Steps

Appointed consultants should make sure British Council programme teams know what they offer, as call-offs depend on teams choosing to use the framework. Others should note the 18 June 2032 end date and look for other disability inclusion opportunities with international development and cultural organisations in the meantime. The award details are on the framework's Bidstats page.

How Athena Can Help

Applications for this British Council framework are closed until 2032, so suppliers outside it need other routes in. Athena's pipeline of upcoming frameworks identifies other inclusion and international development frameworks, and our bid audit service shows which buyers have awarded similar work.

For appointed consultants, our proposal support for public bodies helps you respond to call-offs with clear methods and evidence of impact, priced so the work is worth taking on. We can also help disabled-led organisations present lived experience as a scored strength.
