Framework Description
CHIC's Lift and Mobility Aids framework gives housing members suppliers for passenger lifts and mobility aids, covering supply, installation, replacement, servicing and maintenance across the UK. It has two lots, passenger lifts and mobility aids. It was awarded on 8 December 2025 and runs until 7 December 2029, with no extension.
Context & Use Case
Landlords use it to keep lifts in blocks and sheltered schemes running safely, to replace ageing lift equipment, and to fit stairlifts and other mobility aids so residents can stay in their homes. Lift failures quickly affect residents, so servicing and response matter as much as installation. Members choose between direct award and mini-competition.
Scope of Services
Lot 1: Passenger Lifts Lot 2: Mobility Aids Supply and installation Replacement of lifting equipment Servicing and maintenance Routine inspections and compliance support
Lots
Lot 1 Passenger Lifts; Lot 2 Mobility Aids
Who Can Apply
Lift engineers and mobility aid suppliers with national or regional coverage and social housing experience. Applications for this framework are closed until it is re-tendered, around 7 December 2029.
Buyer Benefits
Landlords get specialists for lifting equipment, where safety regulations and resident impact are high, without running their own tender. Combining installation with servicing gives one point of responsibility for each asset. The mobility aids lot supports adaptations that help older and disabled residents live independently.
Next Steps
Appointed suppliers should approach members with high-rise, sheltered or adapted stock, showing response times and first-time fix rates. Others should register interest with CHIC and build lift and adaptation case studies with uptime and resident satisfaction data before 2029. Be clear about the regions you cover, as suppliers on the current framework chose the regions they serve.
How Athena Can Help
Lift and adaptation mini-competitions often come down to service levels and lifecycle cost. Athena can build win themes on uptime, safety and resident care, using our bid management expertise, and price maintenance contracts to win.
If you are not on the framework, our framework research and registration finds other lift, adaptations and housing compliance routes open now. We also help with lift contracts that landlords tender directly, through our public sector tender writing.
