Framework Description
CHIC's Windows and Doors framework gives housing members a route to window and door products and installation. It has three lots: windows and doors in uPVC, timber and aluminium; doors, including communal entrance, composite and fire doors and canopies; and roofline and rainwater goods. It was awarded on 14 December 2023 and runs until 13 December 2027, with no extension.
Context & Use Case
Landlords use it for planned replacement of windows and front doors, upgrading communal entrance and fire doors in blocks, and renewing fascias, soffits and gutters. Fire door work has become a priority under building safety duties. Members call off by mini-competition or direct award, and can combine products and installation in one call-off.
Scope of Services
Lot 1: Windows & Doors (uPVC, timber, aluminium) Lot 2: Doors (communal entrance, composite and fire doors, canopies) Lot 3: Roofline & Rainwater Goods
Lots
Lot 1 Windows & Doors (uPVC, timber, aluminium); Lot 2 Doors (communal entrance, composite/fire, canopies); Lot 3 Roofline & Rainwater Goods
Who Can Apply
Window, door and roofline manufacturers and installers working in social housing. Applications for this framework are closed and it ends on 13 December 2027, so the next way in is CHIC's re-tender.
Buyer Benefits
Landlords can buy products and installation together, from suppliers whose product standards are already checked, which matters for fire doors and communal entrances. Separate roofline and rainwater lots let them bundle envelope work. Mini-competition keeps prices competitive on large replacement programmes.
Next Steps
With the end date of 13 December 2027 approaching, register interest with CHIC so you hear about the next procurement. Prepare product certification, including fire door test evidence, installer accreditation, and social housing case studies. Appointed suppliers should record their performance data now for reuse in any new tender.
How Athena Can Help
With the framework ending in December 2027, now is the time to plan. Athena's bid planning and writing can map evaluation themes such as certification, resident liaison and lead times, build your evidence and model competitors' scores.
Meanwhile, our framework onboarding service prepares applications for other window, door and fire door frameworks that are open now. Our public tender pricing support covers replacement programmes that landlords tender themselves. We can also check your certification evidence before you submit.
