Energy Framework for Electricity And Gas

Live

Framework Description

Concertus Suffolk's Energy Framework for Electricity and Gas lets public authorities and public undertakings buy energy supply through individual lots, with a single provider intended for each lot. It was set up around an existing portfolio of about 53 GWh of electricity and 52 GWh of gas a year. The framework is live and has no extension option.

Context & Use Case

Public authorities and public undertakings in the Concertus portfolio use the framework to buy electricity and gas without running their own energy tenders. Grouping demand into large volumes gives them stronger buying power. Because each lot has a single supplier, buyers know who will supply them under each lot, and contract management is simpler for small authorities without energy teams.

Scope of Services

Electricity supply Gas supply Individual lots, each with a single provider Portfolio of about 53 GWh electricity and 52 GWh gas a year

Lots

Yes: Multiple lots for electricity and gas supply

Who Can Apply

Suits licensed electricity and gas suppliers able to serve public sector sites. The framework is live with single suppliers in each lot, so other energy suppliers cannot join until it is re-tendered. Check the framework page for when that is expected.

Buyer Benefits

Combining around 105 GWh of annual demand gives buyers better prices and terms than individual sites could get. A single supplier per lot simplifies switching, billing and account management. Buyers value accurate billing, flexible purchasing, clear reporting and dependable customer service.

Next Steps

Energy suppliers should check the Concertus website for this framework and its timetable, then plan for the next tender. Gather evidence of public sector supply, billing accuracy and account management performance. In the meantime, look for other public sector energy frameworks or authority-led tenders.

How Athena Can Help

Energy frameworks are often won on pricing structure and service levels. Athena's pricing and bid strategy support helps suppliers model bids that are competitive and still make sense commercially.

Our framework monitoring and planning can flag when Concertus and other public buyers plan to re-tender, and our energy tender support helps you prepare quality responses on billing, reporting and customer service. That puts you in a stronger position when the lots are next competed, rather than starting from scratch.
