COUNTESS OF CHESTER HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST

National Framework Agreement For Provision Of Track And Traceability Systems

Live

Framework Description

Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust's national framework for track and traceability systems covers the systems NHS decontamination units use to track surgical instruments, endoscopes and flexible scopes through decontamination, high-level disinfection and sterilisation. It has two lots: complete new systems, and ongoing support for existing systems. It is an open framework under the Procurement Act 2023, can be reopened, and runs to 13 May 2034.

Context & Use Case

NHS sterile services and endoscopy decontamination units use the framework to buy new tracking systems or keep current ones running. These systems record a full audit trail for each instrument and scope, so it is safely processed and returned to clinical use. Trusts with an existing system can buy consumables, parts and support through Lot 2 without replacing the whole system.

Scope of Services

Lot 1: Complete track and traceability systems with hardware, consumables, service, maintenance and support Lot 2: Ongoing goods and services for existing systems, including consumables, replacement components, maintenance and support Open framework that may be reopened to new suppliers

Lots

Lot 1 - Provision of complete Track & Traceability Systems including all required consumables, service, maintenance and support, and all associated hardware; Lot 2 - Provision of ongoing goods and services to support the continued operation of an existing Track & Traceability System including consumables, replacement components, maintenance and support

Who Can Apply

Suits providers of decontamination tracking software, hardware and support, and suppliers of compatible consumables and parts. The framework is live, and as an open framework it may be reopened to new suppliers. Check the framework page for the next reopening window.

Buyer Benefits

A national route lets trusts buy traceability systems and support compliantly without their own tender. Separate lots give them a choice between replacing a system and supporting what they already have. Buyers value proven NHS installations, reliable audit trails, integration with theatre systems and responsive support.

Next Steps

Check the Find a Tender procurement record (ocds-h6vhtk-065f08) for reopening notices. Decide whether you fit Lot 1, Lot 2 or both. Prepare evidence of NHS installations, compliance with decontamination standards and support response times. If you are already appointed, make sure trusts know you are on the framework.

Open frameworks give suppliers another chance at each reopening. Athena's open framework registration service prepares your application for the next window, including lot choice and evidence.

For appointed suppliers, our win themes and pricing support helps you win trust call-offs, and our health tech bid advice covers social value and compliance. We can also review your evidence of NHS installations and support response times, which buyers check closely when comparing systems on this framework.
