Framework Description
Crescent Purchasing Consortium's Fire Safety Equipment, Fire Alarms, Suppression Systems and Associated Services framework combines CPC's earlier firefighting equipment and fire alarm frameworks into one four-lot route. It covers equipment, inspections, risk assessment, training, and detection, alarm and suppression systems, plus a complete-solution lot. It runs from 1 May 2024 to 30 April 2028, with no extension.
Context & Use Case
Schools, colleges, universities and other public bodies use it to meet the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. That covers servicing extinguishers, commissioning fire risk assessments and staff training, and installing or maintaining alarm and suppression systems. CPC members award directly or by mini-competition through MultiQuote, and the complete-solution lot suits buyers wanting one contractor.
Scope of Services
Lot 1: Fire Equipment Supply and Maintenance Lot 2: Fire Safety Inspections, Fire Risk Assessment and Consultation, and Fire Safety Training Lot 3: Fire Safety Prevention, Detection, Alarms and Suppression Systems Lot 4: Complete Solution covering Lots 1 and 3 (excluding Lot 2 services)
Lots
Lot 1: Fire Equipment Supply and Maintenance; Lot 2: Fire Safety Inspections, Fire Risk Assessment & Consultation and Fire Safety Training; Lot 3: Fire Safety Prevention Detection, Alarms and Suppression Systems; Lot 4: Fire Safety, Fire Alarms, Suppression Systems and Associated Services Complete Solution
Who Can Apply
Fire equipment suppliers, fire risk assessors and trainers, and alarm and suppression installers. Suppliers were appointed through the original tender, so others must wait for the re-tender, which is likely around 30 April 2028 and will be advertised on Find a Tender and CPC's contracting pipeline.
Buyer Benefits
Estates teams can buy every part of fire safety compliance through one framework, from extinguishers to suppression systems and risk assessments. The complete-solution lot gives one point of responsibility, which suits smaller schools without specialist staff. Pre-vetted suppliers reduce risk on life-safety work.
Next Steps
Appointed suppliers should target members with fire risk assessments or system upgrades coming up and show how they cover several lots. Others should plan for the re-tender around April 2028: choose lots, renew third-party certifications such as BAFE, and gather education case studies.
How Athena Can Help
For appointed suppliers, Athena can sharpen MultiQuote responses, especially for complete-solution requirements where equipment and systems are bundled. Our end-to-end bid support service covers the method statements, price build-up and compliance checks.
For firms preparing for the 2028 re-tender, we start with bid/no-bid on each lot. In the meantime, our framework registrations for fire specialists service prepares applications for other fire safety frameworks across housing and the public sector.
