Framework Description
Crescent Purchasing Consortium's Minor Works DPS 2 (tender reference CPC/JO/01/2025) is a dynamic purchasing system for building works at colleges, universities, academies and schools, and is also open to the wider public sector through Crescent Services. It opened on 1 July 2025 and runs to 23 February 2029, with no extension. It replaces the original Minor Works DPS, streamlining its 29 lots into 9 broader ones.
Context & Use Case
Colleges, universities, academies and schools use it to appoint contractors for refurbishments, small new-build schemes and specialist trade packages. Members run mini-competitions through CPC's MultiQuote portal, inviting all appointed contractors in the relevant lot to quote. Because the supplier base is refreshed through the term, members can reach newer local contractors.
Scope of Services
Lot 1: General building works Lot 2: Mechanical works Lot 3: Electrical works Lot 4: External works Lot 5: Plumbing and drains repair Lot 6: Sustainability and energy efficiency Lot 7: Specialist works Lots 8–9: Minor civil engineering works; demolition
Lots
9 lots covering specific categories of building works
Who Can Apply
Suits building contractors and specialist trades that work on education sites, including SMEs and local contractors. As a live DPS, it accepts new suppliers throughout its term, so contractors can apply to join now for the lots that match their trades.
Buyer Benefits
Minor works are frequent, time-sensitive and often limited to school holidays. Members value a pool of pre-qualified contractors in each trade, quick mini-competitions through MultiQuote, and a supplier base that grows over time, giving them more local choice and keener prices.
Next Steps
Read the Minor Works DPS 2 page on thecpc.ac.uk, pick the lots that match your trades and follow its application route. Have accreditations, insurance, financial information and education references ready. Apply early, because the DPS closes on 23 February 2029, and every competition you miss before admission is lost work.
