Sports Facilities Installation, Refurbishment and Maintenance

Live

Framework Description

Crescent Purchasing Consortium's Sports Facilities Installation, Refurbishment and Maintenance framework (tender reference CPC/LO/02/2023) is a single-lot agreement that started on 17 February 2024. It runs to 16 February 2028, with no extension. It is a re-tender of the earlier Synthetic Sports Facilities framework with an expanded scope, covering works and maintenance contractors for external sports facilities. This framework is used by Crescent Purchasing and NWUPC.

Context & Use Case

Schools, colleges and universities with pitches, courts and tracks use it to build new synthetic surfaces, resurface worn ones and keep them in playable condition. Projects are often linked to external funding or community use agreements. MultiQuote, CPC's portal, handles both direct awards and mini-competitions. Maintenance contracts often follow installation.

Scope of Services

Installation of new synthetic sports surfaces and courts Refurbishment of existing surfaces Routine and planned maintenance Associated civils and groundworks

Lots

Single lot

Who Can Apply

Suits sports surface contractors and specialist maintenance firms with education and community sport experience. Contractors were appointed through the original tender, so others cannot join now. With no extension, the re-tender is likely during 2027, ahead of the 16 February 2028 end date.

Buyer Benefits

Pitch projects are high-value and often tied to funding deadlines. Buyers value contractors who handle groundworks as well as surfacing, can show performance testing results, and offer maintenance that protects the surface's life. A pre-vetted route saves months against a full tender.

Next Steps

Appointed contractors should target schemes timed for summer installation and build maintenance relationships with members. Others cannot join until the re-tender, likely during 2027, so watch CPC's framework page. Prepare surface testing evidence, SAPCA infill compliance, maintenance regimes and education or community sport case studies.
