Back Office Software 2

Framework Description

RM6285 Back Office Software 2 is a Government Commercial Agency (GCA, formerly Crown Commercial Service) framework let under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. It runs from 18 February 2025 to 17 August 2027 and replaces RM6194 Back Office Software. It has two lots, enterprise software and specialist software solutions, and covers licences together with the services to implement and run them.

Context & Use Case

All UK public sector organisations can use it for software that runs core corporate functions: finance, HR, payroll, CRM, procurement and workflow. Solutions can be deployed in the cloud, on premise or as a hybrid. Buyers call off by direct award or further competition, often combining licences with implementation, data migration and support in one contract.

Scope of Services

Lot 1: Enterprise Software Lot 2: Specialist Software Solutions ERP, HCM, CRM and finance software Procurement, workflow and content management Implementation, data migration and integration Consultancy, service desk and data handling

Lots

Lot 1: Enterprise Software; Lot 2: Specialist Software Solutions

Who Can Apply

Suits ERP, HR, finance and CRM vendors and their implementation partners. Lot 1 demands higher certification and liability levels; Lot 2 is designed to be SME friendly, with a recommended maximum contract value of £5m. Membership is fixed until re-tender, around the 17 August 2027 expiry.

Buyer Benefits

Back office replacements are long, high-risk projects. Buyers value buying software and implementation together, choice of deployment model, and an SME-friendly lot for smaller, specialist needs. A framework already competed by GCA cuts months from their procurement timeline. Standard terms also reduce legal negotiation.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should respond to further competitions and expressions of interest. Others cannot join until the re-tender, so watch GCA's upcoming agreements for the RM6285 successor, likely during 2027. Decide which lot fits, then prepare certifications, implementation case studies and data migration evidence.
