CCS RM6244 - Purchase of Standard and Specialist Vehicles

Live

Framework Description

RM6244 Purchase of Standard and Specialist Vehicles is a Government Commercial Agency (GCA, formerly Crown Commercial Service) framework for buying vehicles across 10 lots, from passenger cars to buses, refuse vehicles and bespoke conversions. It has a fixed term ending on 28 November 2026, with no extension. GCA has said it will be replaced on expiry by RM6382 Purchase of Standard and Specialist Vehicles (PSSV). This framework is used by Crown Commercial and APUC.

Context & Use Case

Central government, councils, emergency services, NHS trusts and other public bodies use it to buy fleet vehicles outright. Typical needs include pool cars, vans, blue light cars and motorcycles, refuse collection vehicles, accessible minibuses, buses and coaches, and mobile units such as health screening trailers. Buyers call off by direct award or further competition within the relevant lot.

Who Can Apply

Suits vehicle manufacturers, dealers, bodybuilders and converters. Applications for RM6244 are closed and it ends on 28 November 2026, so new suppliers cannot join it. The way in now is the successor, RM6382 PSSV.

Buyer Benefits

Public fleets must balance cost, uptime and decarbonisation. Buyers value pre-agreed pricing from manufacturers and dealers, specialist conversion capability for emergency and healthcare vehicles, and lots that match their vehicle types so they can award quickly. Lots for conversions and mobile units also cover needs few dealers serve.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should complete live orders before 28 November 2026. All suppliers should follow RM6382 PSSV on the GCA website and check whether its tender stage is open or complete. Prepare zero-emission vehicle ranges, conversion capability and fleet case studies for the lots you would target.

How Athena Can Help

The opportunity is moving from RM6244 to RM6382. Athena's framework transition support checks where the PSSV procurement stands and plans your lot choices and evidence.

Our vehicle tender writers prepare technical and pricing responses, including whole-life cost and zero-emission themes. Our public sector bid/no-bid view helps dealers and converters decide which lots are worth the effort. We also compliance-check every document before submission, so a strong offer is not lost on a technicality.
