Framework Description
RM6242 Construction Professional Services is a dynamic purchasing system run by the Government Commercial Agency (GCA, formerly Crown Commercial Service) as part of its construction offer. It gives public sector buyers a quick and flexible route to a large pool of construction consultants. Its PCR 2015 basis means 23 February 2029, the date it has been extended to, is the furthest it can run. Suppliers can apply to join until then.
Context & Use Case
Central government and wider public sector bodies use it to buy professional and technical support for new builds, refurbishment, regeneration, alterations and extensions, maintenance programmes, demolition and security defences. A filtering system lets buyers shortlist local, regional or national suppliers by service before running a competition, which favours smaller firms near the project.
Scope of Services

Who Can Apply
Suits construction consultancies and technical service providers of all sizes, with a stated focus on SMEs. As a live DPS, it is open to new suppliers, who can apply at any point using GCA's supplier bid pack.
Buyer Benefits
Buyers often need a cost consultant or engineer quickly for a single project. They value filters that find local specialists, a growing supplier pool, and the speed of competing among pre-qualified firms instead of running a full tender for each appointment.
Next Steps
Download the RM6242 supplier bid pack from the GCA agreement page, check the selection criteria and register on the DPS. Set your service and location filters carefully, because they decide which competitions you are invited to. Keep them up to date and apply soon to maximise the time left before 23 February 2029.
