Framework Description
Furniture and Associated Services 2 (RM6308) is a PCR 2015 framework, closed to new applications, from the Government Commercial Agency (GCA, formerly Crown Commercial Service) for office, residential and educational furniture. It had an initial three-year term plus a one-year extension, and now runs until 22 January 2028 with no further extension. Five lots cover standard office furniture, MOD office furniture, residential furniture, high density steel storage and a dedicated sustainability lot.
Context & Use Case
Central government, local authorities, charities and not-for-profit organisations use RM6308 to furnish offices, accommodation and learning spaces, along with storage and associated services. Buyers with specialist needs, such as healthcare or challenging environments, can set them out at call-off. Low-volume, simple items may go through the Tail Spend Solution (RM6202) instead.
Scope of Services
Lot 1: Office furniture, standard and Government corporate (hub standards) Lot 2: MOD office furniture Lot 3: Residential furniture Lot 4: High density steel storage and library shelving Lot 5: Sustainability, including repair, re-manufacture and second-life furniture Associated services: design, space planning and site surveys
Lots
Lot 1: Office Furniture (Standard & Government Corporate); Lot 2: MOD Office; Lot 3: Residential Furniture; Lot 4: High Density Steel Storage; Lot 5: Sustainability
Who Can Apply
Membership of RM6308 is fixed under PCR 2015, so furniture manufacturers, distributors and remanufacturers not already appointed cannot join before it ends on 22 January 2028. The successor is the opportunity, and sustainability specialists should note that a dedicated lot exists in this generation.
Buyer Benefits
Buyers can furnish offices to Government hub standards, kit out MOD offices and fit out residential space through one agreement. The sustainability lot lets them repair, re-manufacture or reuse furniture instead of buying new, which helps with waste and carbon targets. Design, space planning and site surveys come from the same suppliers.
Next Steps
With expiry on 22 January 2028, expect successor activity during 2027. Monitor the GCA page for RM6308 and GCA's upcoming agreements for market engagement. Prepare evidence on pricing, delivery performance, remanufacturing and social value. Appointed suppliers should keep winning further competitions to build references for the re-tender.
How Athena Can Help
Athena helps furniture suppliers get ahead of the RM6308 successor. A bid audit of past furniture awards and our framework targeting and positioning show which lots suit you, then we build the sustainability and social value evidence buyers now expect.
Suppliers already on the framework can use our further competition bid support for win themes, competitor analysis and catalogue pricing. For tenders outside frameworks, our public sector tendering help keeps bids compliant and profitable.
