Framework Description

Transport Technology (RM6347) is an open framework from the Government Commercial Agency (GCA, formerly Crown Commercial Service), let under the Procurement Act 2023. It covers transport products, services and software for urban, rural and intercity settings across 14 lots, from EV charging to smart ticketing and traffic management. The first scheme runs from 23 October 2025 to 22 October 2027; the second scheme, RM6347.2, is expected to start in October 2027.

Context & Use Case

Transport authorities and other public sector organisations use RM6347 to buy technology that supports UK transport goals, including the move to clean energy. Supplier limits and contract value restrictions have been removed, and buyers can award without competition or run a competitive selection through a digital platform, so councils can buy anything from a parking system to a full network management platform.

Who Can Apply

New suppliers can join RM6347 only when it reopens. The application process for the second scheme, RM6347.2, is expected to open in early 2027, ahead of its October 2027 start. Transport technology suppliers of any size, including those in a single specialism such as detectors or parking, should prepare now.

Buyer Benefits

Buyers get 14 lots of transport technology with flexible award routes and no supplier limits or contract value caps. Award without competition lets authorities move quickly on funded schemes, and the digital platform makes shortlisting simpler. Lots for niche products let buyers go straight to specialists.

Next Steps

Follow the RM6347.2 second scheme page on the GCA website and the current agreement page (https://www.gca.gov.uk/agreements/RM6347) for timings and supplier events. Decide which lots you will apply for and gather case studies, accreditations and product evidence before the application window opens in early 2027.
