Dio(n) Framework Contract

Coming soon

Framework Description

DIO(N)-CON/26/002 is the Defence Infrastructure Organisation's relet of a construction and building services framework for British Gurkhas Nepal. It is organised into seven disciplines: demolitions, civil, electrical, mechanical, fixtures and fittings, finishes, and miscellaneous works. The procurement uses the open procedure, with tenders submitted electronically after registering on the Defence Sourcing Portal. The work is based in Nepal, so delivery capability on the ground matters.

Context & Use Case

DIO uses this framework to maintain and improve the estate supporting British Gurkhas in Nepal, calling on contractors for building works across the trades listed. Splitting the work by discipline lets DIO match each job to a specialist rather than relying on a single general contractor. It is a relet, so the requirement continues from an existing arrangement rather than starting from scratch.

Demolitions Civil works Electrical works Mechanical works Fixtures and fittings Finishes Miscellaneous works

Lots

Yes: 7 disciplines - demolitions, civil, electrical, mechanical, fixtures & fittings, finishes, miscellaneous

Who Can Apply

The framework suits building contractors and specialist trade firms able to deliver works in Nepal for a defence client, whether locally based or with established local delivery arrangements. The relet has not yet been tendered, so there is nothing to join; suppliers bid when the open-procedure tender is published. Check whether you can tender for one discipline or several.

Buyer Benefits

Having contractors organised by discipline gives DIO a ready pool for each trade at a remote overseas site, which cuts the lead time on individual works. A relet keeps continuity of estate maintenance as the previous arrangement ends. Buyers will value proven delivery in Nepal or comparable locations, safe working on an occupied military site, and reliable supply of materials.

Next Steps

Register on the Defence Sourcing Portal now so you are ready to download documents when the tender opens, and check the Defence Online article for updates. Decide which of the seven disciplines you can evidence, and gather case studies of comparable works, health and safety records and local supply arrangements. When the notice is published, note the clarification and submission deadlines immediately.

How Athena Can Help

The DIO(N) relet has yet to be tendered, so the time to prepare is now. Athena can plan the bid early through our bid planning service, deciding which disciplines to target and drafting reusable case studies and method statements before the clock starts. Our public sector tender support offers a bid/no-bid review, which is useful for weighing the cost of an overseas defence tender against likely workload. If you want to build a wider pipeline of defence construction frameworks, our framework registration consultants can map what else is due to open.
