Framework Description
ESPO's Commercial and Industrial Laundry Equipment framework (reference 24_25) is a national single-lot framework for buying, renting and maintaining washing machines, tumble dryers and electric rotary ironers. It runs from 26 November 2025 to 26 November 2027, with an option to extend to 27 November 2029. Procured under the Procurement Act 2023, it is closed to new applications.
Context & Use Case
Care homes, schools, leisure centres and other public bodies use it to equip and maintain on-site laundries. Buyers can buy equipment outright, rent it or take maintenance only, which helps settings with tight capital budgets. Call-offs can be made without competition or by further competitive selection, so a broken machine can be replaced quickly while larger laundry refits are competed.
Scope of Services
Purchase of commercial and industrial washing machines, tumble dryers and rotary ironers Rental of laundry equipment Maintenance of laundry equipment
Lots
Single lot
Who Can Apply
Suits laundry equipment manufacturers, distributors and service companies. Its supplier list is fixed, so others must wait until ESPO re-tenders it, around 26 November 2027 or 27 November 2029 if extended.
Buyer Benefits
Buyers can choose buying or renting and include maintenance under one route, giving predictable costs and quick fixes when a laundry breaks down. Care settings especially value fast engineer response times, infection control features and reliable machines that keep running under heavy daily use.
Next Steps
Check the 24_25 page on ESPO's website for the appointed suppliers and whether the extension is taken up. If appointed, prepare rental and maintenance offers for further competitions. Everyone else should build their bid for the re-tender with service coverage, response times and care sector references.
How Athena Can Help
For suppliers on 24_25, Athena's tender support for public buyers can help you win further competitive selections with clear response-time commitments and rental pricing. Outside the framework, our registration support can plan a route onto the re-tender and similar facilities frameworks used by care and leisure buyers. For the re-tender itself, Athena's bid management would write and check your submission, with win themes built around reliability, servicing and care sector experience.
