Framework Description
Curtains, Blinds and Other Associated Products and Services (reference 229_24) is an ESPO framework for the supply and installation of window furnishings, stage equipment and security shutters. It runs from 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2027, with an option to extend to 31 August 2028. It has four lots and was procured under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. It is closed to new applications.
Context & Use Case
Schools and other public bodies use it to fit and replace curtains and blinds, stage curtains and drama room equipment, and security shutters and grilles on their buildings. Powered blinds have their own lot, so buyers with larger or harder-to-reach windows can go straight to specialists. Every lot covers supply and installation, so one supplier handles both the product and the fitting.
Scope of Services
Lot 1: Supply and Installation of Curtains and Blinds Lot 2: Supply and Installation of Electrical Powered Blinds Lot 3: Supply and Installation of Theatre and Drama Room Equipment Lot 4: Supply and Installation of Security Shutters and Grilles
Lots
Lot 1 Supply and Installation of Curtains and Blinds; Lot 2 Supply and Installation of Electrical Powered Blinds; Lot 3 Supply and Installation of Theatre and Drama Room Equipment; Lot 4 Supply and Installation of Security Shutters and Grilles
Who Can Apply
Suits blind and curtain makers, stage equipment installers and security shutter firms. Suppliers not appointed have to wait until ESPO re-tenders it, around 31 August 2027 or 2028 if extended.
Buyer Benefits
Buyers get supply and installation from one appointed supplier, which matters when work happens in occupied buildings. Separate lots for powered blinds, theatre and drama equipment, and security shutters mean they reach specialists rather than generalists, and a ready-made agreement saves them running their own tender for each refit.
Next Steps
Check the 229_24 page on ESPO's website for appointed suppliers and the extension position. If appointed, target further competitions in your lot. Non-appointed suppliers should plan for the re-tender with school installation case studies, product certificates and safeguarding arrangements for working on school sites.
