Framework Description
Jisc's Research Management Systems DPS, launched in April 2024, is a Dynamic Purchasing System for research management software. It has two lots: Lot 1, Current Research Information Systems (CRIS), and Lot 2, Repositories. It replaces and complements the earlier Research Outputs Repository DPS, and Jisc runs it through its EU-Supply e-tendering portal, where new suppliers can apply.
Context & Use Case
UK universities and research organisations use the DPS to buy and implement platforms that manage research information, publications and open-access outputs. As with any DPS, contracts are awarded through competitions among admitted suppliers, and Jisc offers institutions guidance on running them. Demand is driven by platform renewals and changing open-access requirements.
Scope of Services
Lot 1: CRIS supply and implementation Lot 2: Repository supply and implementation Data integration and ingest services Open-access workflow support Platform support and maintenance
Lots
Lot 1 CRIS (Current Research Information Systems); Lot 2 Repositories
Who Can Apply
CRIS and repository platform vendors, and their implementation partners, that meet Jisc's technical and commercial criteria. The DPS is live and accepts new suppliers while it remains open, so you can apply now through Jisc's e-tendering portal and then compete for institutions' contracts.
Buyer Benefits
Institutions can run a quick competition among pre-qualified vendors when a CRIS or repository contract ends, with Jisc's guidance on the process. Because the DPS keeps admitting suppliers, buyers see a current view of the market, including newer platforms, rather than a fixed list chosen years earlier.
Next Steps
Register on Jisc's EU-Supply portal, choose Lot 1, Lot 2 or both, and complete the selection questionnaire with evidence of HE implementations, integrations and data security. Once admitted, expect invitations to institution-level competitions. Check the portal for the DPS's term and any transition plans, as DPSs are being replaced by dynamic markets under the Procurement Act 2023.
