Bus Shelters, Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) and Associated Services

Live

Framework Description

KCS's Bus Shelters, Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) and Associated Services framework (Y22030) covers two lots: bus shelters and associated services, and RTPI systems and associated services. It is open to public sector bodies across the UK, Channel Islands and Northern Ireland. It runs from 1 February 2023 to 31 January 2027, with no extension option.

Context & Use Case

Highways and transport authorities, councils and other public bodies, including police, fire, NHS, schools and charities, use it to install and maintain shelters and to supply the displays and software that show live bus times. Organisations need permission from the lead authority to use the framework. The lots let shelter and RTPI work be bought separately or together.

Who Can Apply

Street furniture manufacturers and installers, and RTPI hardware and software providers. Applications for this framework are closed and it is almost at its end, so new suppliers cannot join; the successor framework is the opportunity, and its tender may already be running or due shortly.

Buyer Benefits

Transport authorities can upgrade shelters and passenger information in one compliant route, rather than separate tenders for structures, displays and data. A framework open to the whole UK public sector also gives smaller bodies access to the same suppliers as large transport authorities.

Next Steps

Search Find a Tender and the KCS website now for a replacement to this framework, as it ends on 31 January 2027. Prepare evidence of shelter installation and maintenance or RTPI deployments for public bodies, including data integration and uptime. Appointed suppliers should agree with buyers how existing call-off contracts will run past the framework end.

How Athena Can Help

The successor tender is the priority here. Athena's public sector tender planning confirms the timetable and helps you choose between the shelter and RTPI lots, and our bid writing consultants draft the quality responses, build win themes around reliability and data, and model a winning price.

If the timing doesn't suit, our framework and DPS registrations work finds other transport and highways routes you can join sooner, so your pipeline isn't resting on a single successor tender.
