Electric Vehicle Infrastructure & Associated Solutions

Live

Framework Description

KCS Procurement Services' Electric Vehicle Infrastructure & Associated Solutions framework is a national agreement running until 29 April 2029. It has four lots: EV charging points; back-office solutions, service and maintenance; consultancy; and heavy goods vehicle and bus charging. Suppliers were appointed at award, as it is not a DPS.

Context & Use Case

Councils, NHS trusts, schools and other public bodies use it to install chargers for their fleets, staff and visitors, and to plan and manage charging networks. Lot 4 serves transport authorities and fleet operators moving buses and HGVs to electric power, which needs much higher power supply and depot design.

Scope of Services

Lot 1: Electric vehicle charging points Lot 2: Back office solutions, service and maintenance Lot 3: Consultancy services Lot 4: Heavy goods vehicle and bus charging

Lots

Lot 1: Electric Vehicle Charging Points; Lot 2: Back Office Solutions, Service and Maintenance; Lot 3: Consultancy Services; Lot 4: Heavy Goods Vehicle and Bus Charging

Who Can Apply

Chargepoint manufacturers and installers, back-office software and maintenance providers, EV consultants and heavy-duty charging specialists. Applications for this framework are closed, so new suppliers cannot join until KCS re-tenders, likely around 29 April 2029. Appointed suppliers compete for call-offs.

Buyer Benefits

Public bodies can deliver charging projects quickly and in line with their net zero plans, choosing installation, back-office management and advice separately or together. A dedicated HGV and bus charging lot gives transport buyers access to specialists in high-power systems, which general installers may not offer.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should target councils and trusts with fleet electrification or net zero plans, and show uptime, maintenance and data reporting clearly. Others should check the KCS framework page and build evidence of public sector installations, grid connection management and service levels ahead of the re-tender expected before 29 April 2029.

How Athena Can Help

EV infrastructure call-offs often hinge on uptime, grid connections and whole-life cost. Athena's bid and tender writers show these clearly, with competitor scoring and pricing modelled over the asset life.

For firms preparing for the 2029 re-tender, our public sector bid support team plans which lot to target, and our framework registration help finds other EV and fleet routes you can join sooner, with a 6–12 month plan so you prepare ahead of each opening.
