Emergency Response, Rescue Equipment and Associated Services

Live

Framework Description

KCS Procurement Services' Emergency Response, Rescue Equipment and Associated Services framework is a national agreement running from 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2027. It has seven lots covering rescue at height, confined spaces and water, drones and thermal imaging, cutting equipment, medical response equipment and emergency shelters. Applications for this framework are closed (it is not a dynamic purchasing system).

Context & Use Case

Fire and rescue services, police, ambulance trusts, local authority resilience teams and other public bodies use it to equip crews for technical rescue and major incidents. A water rescue team replacing kit, a council stocking emergency shelters for evacuations, or a service adding drones with thermal cameras can each go to a specialist lot without running a separate tender.

Scope of Services

Lot 1: Working at Heights Lot 2: Restricted and Confined Spaces Lot 3: Water Rescue Lot 4: Drones and Thermal Imaging Lot 5: Cutting Equipment Lot 6: Medical Response Equipment Lot 7: Emergency Shelters

Lots

Lot 1: Working at Heights; Lot 2: Restricted and Confined Spaces; Lot 3: Water Rescue; Lot 4: Drones and Thermal Imaging; Lot 5: Cutting Equipment; Lot 6: Medical Response Equipment; Lot 7: Emergency Shelters

Who Can Apply

Manufacturers and distributors of rescue, response and medical equipment, and providers of associated services, with blue light or public sector customers. Applications for this framework are closed, so firms not appointed cannot join; with the term ending on 31 July 2027, KCS is likely to re-tender during the first half of 2027.

Buyer Benefits

Emergency services get equipment from suppliers already checked for quality and compliance, which matters when kit has to work first time. Seven specialist lots let each discipline buy from experts in that field, and a national route lets smaller services buy on the same terms as large ones.

Next Steps

Watch KCS and Find a Tender from early 2027 for the successor framework, and decide which lots match your product range. Prepare product certifications, training and maintenance offers, and blue light references. Appointed suppliers should agree with customers how orders and service contracts will continue after 31 July 2027.

How Athena Can Help

Rescue equipment tenders are scored on certification, reliability and after-sales support as much as price. Athena's bid management for product tenders sets those out clearly and models pricing across the equipment life, with competitor scoring for each lot you target.

Our blue light bid planning helps you prepare for the 2027 re-tender early, and our framework application management finds other emergency services and resilience frameworks you can join in the meantime.
