Framework Description
KCS's ICT Managed Services & Consultancy framework (Y23038) lets public bodies across the UK, Channel Islands and Northern Ireland buy managed IT services and technology consultancy without a full tender. It has two lots, ICT managed services and ICT consultancy services, and runs from 1 May 2023 to 30 April 2027 under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. It is approved by the DfE for schools.
Context & Use Case
Police forces, fire services, NHS bodies, schools, charities and other publicly funded organisations use it for outsourced IT management and expert advice: running infrastructure, networks and cloud environments, strengthening cyber security, managing data and planning technology change. It suits organisations without large in-house IT teams that need both day-to-day support and occasional expert advice, such as a cloud migration plan or a cyber security review, from the same route.
Scope of Services
Lot 1: ICT Managed Services: supply, installation, configuration, on-site and remote support, MIS support and training Lot 2: ICT Consultancy Services: connectivity, cloud, cyber security, digital strategy and disaster recovery Network management and support Data management and analytics
Lots
Lot 1: ICT Managed Services; Lot 2: ICT Consultancy Services
Who Can Apply
Suits IT managed service providers and technology consultancies with public sector clients. Applications for this framework are closed and it is near its end, so new suppliers cannot join; the replacement, likely tendered in the coming months, is the realistic way in.
Buyer Benefits
Buyers can bring in IT support and expertise quickly through a pre-tendered route. A single framework covering infrastructure, cyber, cloud and data means one provider can support the whole IT estate, which suits smaller public bodies with limited internal capacity.
Next Steps
Watch KCS and Find a Tender for the successor framework, as this one ends on 30 April 2027. Prepare public sector case studies, security accreditations and service level evidence. Appointed suppliers should check how call-off contracts can run beyond the end date.
