Integrated Community Care Equipment and Associated Services

Live

Framework Description

KCS Procurement Services' Integrated Community Care Equipment and Associated Services framework is a national agreement running until 17 November 2028. It has three lots: community care equipment and associated services; technology enabled care (TEC) products and services; and wheelchairs, motorised mobility products and services. It is not a DPS, so entry was only at tender.

Context & Use Case

Local authorities and NHS bodies running community equipment services use it to supply items that help people live independently, from short-term support after hospital discharge to long-term equipment for chronic conditions. Contracts often cover the full cycle: delivery, fitting, servicing, collection, refurbishment and recycling. Lot 2 serves telecare and Lot 3 wheelchair services.

Lot 1: Integrated Community Care Equipment and Associated Services; Lot 2: Technology Enabled Care Products and Services (TEC); Lot 3: Wheelchairs, Motorised Mobility Products and Services

Who Can Apply

Community equipment manufacturers, distributors and service providers, telecare suppliers and wheelchair and mobility specialists. Applications for this framework are closed, so new suppliers cannot join until KCS re-tenders, likely around 17 November 2028. Those appointed win work through call-offs.

Buyer Benefits

Health and social care buyers can source equipment and the services around it from suppliers already checked for quality and safety. Covering the full equipment cycle helps keep costs down through refurbishment and recycling, and supports faster hospital discharge by getting equipment into people's homes quickly.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should target councils and integrated care boards with community equipment contracts ending, showing delivery times and recycling rates. Others should prepare for the re-tender expected before 17 November 2028, with care sector references, safety and quality evidence, and service level data. Look for re-tender notices on the KCS website.

How Athena Can Help

Community equipment contracts are often won on delivery times, recycling rates and safety. Athena's health and care bid writing sets those out clearly with evidence, win themes and pricing for whole-service contracts.

Our bid/no-bid tools for public tenders help you choose between the equipment, TEC and wheelchair lots, and our health framework applications service finds other community care routes to join before the 2028 re-tender, with applications prepared and checked by our team.
