Sensory Equipment and Associated Services

Live

Framework Description

KCS Procurement Services' Sensory Equipment and Associated Services framework is a national agreement running until 30 September 2029. It has three lots: sensory rooms and spaces, sensory pools, and sensory gardens, including furniture, lighting, interactive products and installation. Unlike a DPS, it does not admit new suppliers during its term. Buyers can use it across the UK.

Context & Use Case

SEND schools, local authority care teams, NHS trusts and third-sector providers use it to create sensory environments for people with sensory, neurodevelopmental or learning differences. Projects range from a multisensory room with padding and lighting, to a hydrotherapy pool fitted with fibre optic projectors and water-resistant audio, to an outdoor garden with interactive features and planting.

Scope of Services

Lot 1: Sensory rooms and spaces, including padding, furniture and lighting Lot 2: Sensory pools with projectors, hydrotherapy lighting and audio Lot 3: Sensory gardens with furnishings, interactive products and planting Design, installation and support services

Lots

Lot 1: Sensory Rooms and Spaces; Lot 2: Sensory Pools; Lot 3: Sensory Gardens

Who Can Apply

Sensory equipment specialists, pool installers and sensory garden designers with public sector clients, product safety evidence and installation capability. Applications for this framework are closed, so new suppliers cannot join until KCS re-tenders, likely around 30 September 2029.

Buyer Benefits

Buyers can commission specialist environments without a full tender, using suppliers already checked for product safety and installation. Lots for rooms, pools and gardens mean each project goes to a specialist, which matters for vulnerable users with specific needs. It also saves buyers from writing complex specifications from scratch.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should approach SEND schools and care providers with capital funding, showing design work, user outcomes and aftercare. Others should prepare for the re-tender expected before 30 September 2029, building case studies, product safety evidence and installation records. Check KCS's website periodically for the next round.

How Athena Can Help

Sensory projects are won on understanding users' needs as much as on product. Athena's bid writers for SEND projects present your design approach, outcomes and aftercare clearly, with pricing that fits school and care budgets.

For specialists not yet on it, our bid guidance for SMEs plans your 2029 re-tender response, and our health and education framework search finds other routes open now. We also prepare case studies and safety evidence for each application.
