Vehicle Telematics and Associated Services

Live

Framework Description

KCS Procurement Services' Vehicle Telematics and Associated Services framework is a national agreement running from 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2027. It gives public sector fleet operators a compliant route to in-vehicle telematics hardware, software and associated services. As a framework rather than a DPS, its supplier list is fixed. Bodies across the UK, Channel Islands and Northern Ireland can use it with KCS's permission.

Context & Use Case

Police, fire services, NHS bodies, councils, academic institutions and third-sector organisations use telematics to track vehicles in real time, monitor driver behaviour and analyse fleet performance. Typical goals are cutting fuel use and mileage, improving driver safety and proving compliance. Installation and maintenance of equipment come with the service. Data from telematics also supports decisions on replacing vehicles with electric models.

Who Can Apply

Telematics hardware and software providers with fleet installation and analytics capability. Applications for this framework are closed, so new suppliers cannot join it. It ends on 31 July 2027 with no extension option, so the next opportunity for firms not already appointed is whatever KCS tenders to replace it.

Buyer Benefits

Fleet managers get data to reduce fuel costs, improve safety and plan routes, through suppliers already checked for capability. One route covering hardware, software, installation and integration means fewer contracts and systems that work together, which matters for organisations running mixed fleets.

Next Steps

Watch KCS's framework page during the run-up to 31 July 2027 for the successor framework. Prepare public sector case studies showing fuel or safety savings, evidence of data protection and integration with fleet systems, and installation capacity. Appointed suppliers should check how long existing contracts can run beyond the end date.

How Athena Can Help

Telematics tenders are often won on proven savings and how well the system integrates. Athena's evidence-led bid writing turns your fleet results into scored answers, with win themes and pricing for multi-year subscriptions.

Ahead of the re-tender, our public sector bid campaign planning builds your response early, and our telematics framework search finds other fleet technology routes open now, with applications handled for you. We also compliance-check every submission before it goes in.
