Waste Offtakes Framework

Coming soon

Framework Description

Lancashire Renewables Limited is setting up a Waste Offtakes Framework to formalise arrangements with specialist offtakers for the recovered materials from its two waste treatment facilities in Lancashire. The facilities process municipal waste from Lancashire County Council and Blackpool Council, sorting it into streams such as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, paper, cardboard, WEEE and HDPE, supplied baled or loose.

Context & Use Case

Here the framework appoints the businesses that take sorted materials away for onward processing and value recovery, rather than suppliers delivering a service to the public body. Lancashire Renewables wants transparent supply chain records for audit and regulatory compliance, and recognises the value of existing offtake relationships, which this framework will put on a formal footing.

Scope of Services

Collection of sorted waste streams: ferrous and non-ferrous metals, paper, cardboard, WEEE and HDPE Handling of baled and loose materials Capacity for varying volumes and frequencies Supply chain transparency and documentation Onward processing and value recovery

Who Can Apply

Recyclers, reprocessors and waste offtakers with environmental permits, quality certifications and experience handling multiple waste streams. The framework is at the procurement stage, so offtakers get on by responding when Lancashire Renewables runs the procurement; prepare now.

Buyer Benefits

Lancashire Renewables gets reliable outlets for its recovered materials, with documented chains of custody that stand up to audit. Formal arrangements also help it secure value for materials and show regulators where waste goes after treatment. A framework also replaces informal arrangements with clear, consistent terms for every offtaker.

Next Steps

Follow Lancashire Renewables Limited's buyer page on Tenderbase for the tender documents. Prepare permits, quality certifications, capacity data for each material stream you can take, and evidence of your offtake history and downstream processing. Expect pre-qualification to assess technical capacity, environmental compliance and past performance.

How Athena Can Help

Offtake frameworks differ from standard service tenders, so it helps to plan the bid carefully. Athena's offtake bid planning sets the timetable and decides which material streams to offer, and our bid writing and compliance team builds clear answers on capacity, permits and traceability, with pricing that reflects material values.

We can also find similar council and waste company opportunities through our registration on waste frameworks service. Each submission is compliance-checked before it goes in.
