PVC-U and Timber Windows and Doors

Live

Framework Description

PVC-U and Timber Windows and Doors (WD2) is an LHC framework for the manufacture, supply and installation of PVC-U, timber and aluminium-clad timber windows and doors. It started on 1 August 2022, applications for it are closed (it is not a DPS), and it ends on 31 January 2027 with no extension option. At award, six suppliers were appointed across three workstreams and 11 regional areas. This framework is used by LHC London and South East Procurement and SWPA.

Context & Use Case

Councils and social housing providers use WD2 for window and door replacement across housing stock and public buildings, often within planned investment or energy-efficiency programmes. The timber and aluminium-clad timber workstreams give buyers an alternative where PVC-U is not suitable. Buyers pick suppliers by material and region, and contracts awarded before 31 January 2027 can continue past that date.

Who Can Apply

Window and door manufacturers and installers working in PVC-U, timber or aluminium-clad timber. Applications for WD2 are closed and it ends on 31 January 2027, so suppliers not already appointed cannot join it. The route in is whichever successor LHC procures; check the framework page and LHC's e-tendering portal for its timing.

Buyer Benefits

Regional areas and material-based workstreams let buyers compare suppliers that actually cover their location and product type. Pre-tendered terms take months out of planned replacement programmes, and energy-efficient units help landlords lift EPC ratings across their stock. Having manufacture and installation with one supplier simplifies accountability for defects.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should get live call-offs to contract before 31 January 2027, as projects started before then can continue. Everyone else should find out what replaces WD2: check the LHC framework page and register on LHC's e-tendering portal. Prepare current energy performance data, installation case studies and accreditations now so you can bid as soon as the successor opens.

How Athena Can Help

With WD2 ending on 31 January 2027, the priority for most window and door suppliers is the next opportunity. Athena's help joining frameworks starts by identifying which fenestration frameworks are open or due to open, then delivers the application for you.

For the successor tender itself, our experienced bid writers build win themes and evidence around product performance and installation quality, and our public sector bid consultancy keeps pricing competitive while protecting margin.
