Windows & Doors - Aluminium (A8)

Live

Framework Description

Windows and Doors – Aluminium (A8) is LHC London and South East Procurement's framework for supplying and installing aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling in public buildings across England and Wales. Applications for this framework are closed (it is not a DPS), and it runs to 11 April 2028 with no extension listed. Three suppliers are appointed, and products carry a ten-year product and installation guarantee on LHC projects. This framework is used by LHC London and South East Procurement and South West Procurement Alliance.

Context & Use Case

Local authorities, housing associations, schools and other public bodies use A8 for replacement window and door programmes, curtain walling on new builds, and life-cycle refurbishment of ageing aluminium systems. Products range from energy-efficient Band C to triple-glazed A+ ratings and meet current Building Regulations. Buyers can direct award or run a mini-competition among the appointed suppliers.

Who Can Apply

Aluminium window, door and curtain walling manufacturers and installers able to cover England and Wales. With only three suppliers appointed and applications closed, new entrants must wait for the re-tender, likely ahead of 11 April 2028, which LHC will advertise on its e-tendering portal.

Buyer Benefits

A small panel and a ten-year guarantee give buyers confidence in long-term performance, with optional insurance-backed warranties for extra protection. Design, survey and site management are included, so estates teams without fenestration expertise can rely on the supplier for specification. Ratings up to triple-glazed A+ help authorities cut heat loss on retrofit programmes.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should keep product data, thermal performance figures and guarantee terms current so mini-competition responses are quick. Others should register on LHC's e-tendering portal, watch Find a Tender for A8's successor ahead of 11 April 2028, and gather curtain walling and replacement-programme case studies now. The A8 guide on LHC's site explains the call-off routes.

How Athena Can Help

With only three places awarded on A8 last time, the re-tender will be competitive. Athena's specialist bid team can model where you would score against likely rivals and build win themes around product performance, installation quality and guarantees.

We can also find aluminium fenestration frameworks that are open now, and plan your A8 successor bid with bid/no-bid and pricing support so the effort goes where you can realistically win a place.
