Framework Description
Construction Framework East Under £20M is the National Framework Partnership's route for public sector construction projects up to £20 million in the East of England. It sits alongside the East framework for larger schemes. The term is five years, from 15 September 2025 to 15 September 2030, and clients choose from a ranked list of pre-qualified contractors. Applications for this framework are closed (it is not a DPS).
Context & Use Case
Public bodies across the East of England use it for small and mid-sized schemes such as new school blocks, housing developments, health facilities and refurbishments. They can award directly to a ranked contractor or run a mini-competition, so a straightforward extension can be placed quickly while larger schemes still face competition.

Who Can Apply
Suits regional and SME main contractors with public sector projects up to £20 million behind them, and the accreditations and health and safety record to match. It is closed to new applications until the re-tender before 15 September 2030.
Buyer Benefits
Clients get contractors sized to their projects, avoiding overpaying for a tier-one contractor on a modest scheme. Regional focus also helps them appoint firms with local supply chains and labour, which supports social value goals. Direct selection means urgent works can be placed quickly.
Next Steps
Appointed contractors should introduce themselves to East of England clients with upcoming school, housing and health schemes, and make each project count towards repeat work. Others should note the 15 September 2030 end and use the time to build regional public sector case studies, accreditations and social value evidence.
