Framework Description

Construction Framework South over £20M is the National Framework Partnership's route to main contractors for public sector projects above £20 million in the South of England. It runs for five years, from 15 September 2025 to 15 September 2030, and appoints a ranked list of pre-qualified contractors. It is a single-lot framework rather than a DPS, and applications are closed.

Context & Use Case

Councils, education trusts, health bodies and housing providers in the South of England use it to procure large schemes, such as new schools, major housing developments, health facilities and infrastructure. They can make a direct award to a ranked contractor or invite mini-competition bids, so procurement time is cut on projects where programme matters.

Who Can Apply

Suits main contractors with major public sector projects above £20 million in their portfolio and the financial standing, accreditations and safety performance to match. New entrants cannot join until the re-tender ahead of 15 September 2030.

Buyer Benefits

Clients get a vetted pool of large contractors in the region, a compliant route to market and the choice of direct award or competition. That saves months on major schemes where delays cost money, and the five-year term supports long capital programmes across the region.

Next Steps

Appointed contractors should identify southern public clients with major capital plans and build early relationships to support direct awards. Others should note the 15 September 2030 end and use the coming years to build a portfolio of large public sector schemes in the South with strong social value and carbon outcomes.
