Framework Description
Construction Framework UK over £20M is the National Framework Partnership's national route to main contractors for public sector projects above £20 million anywhere in the UK. It runs from 15 September 2025 to 15 September 2030, a five-year term, with a ranked list of pre-qualified contractors. It is a single-lot framework rather than a DPS, and applications are closed.
Context & Use Case
Public bodies use it for major schemes where they want access to contractors with national reach, or for programmes that span several areas. Clients can make a direct award or run a mini-competition between ranked contractors. National programmes, such as estates spread across several regions, can be handled under one framework rather than several regional arrangements.

Who Can Apply
Suits national and large regional contractors with public sector projects above £20 million, solid financial standing and the right accreditations. New contractors cannot join this framework until it is re-tendered ahead of 15 September 2030.
Buyer Benefits
Buyers anywhere in the UK get a compliant route to vetted major contractors, and organisations with multi-region programmes can use one framework. Direct award or mini-competition gives them flexibility on high-value schemes, and vetted financial standing reduces the risk of contractor failure.
Next Steps
Appointed contractors should target public bodies with major capital programmes across the UK and use strong delivery to earn direct awards. Others should note the 15 September 2030 end and build evidence of large public sector projects in several regions, with social value and carbon outcomes, ready for the re-tender.
How Athena Can Help
National major-works competitions call for strong evidence from several regions and sharp pricing. Athena's large-scale bid management runs your response, with F.V.D. win themes, competitor scoring and a final Bid Health Check.
Our public sector bid compliance support covers social value, carbon commitments and procurement rules for each client, wherever in the UK the scheme is. For the 2030 re-tender, our national framework application support plans the submission well in advance.
