Framework Description
NEPO221 Demolition Works and Associated Services is NEPO's framework for demolition and asbestos surveying and analysis. It has eleven lots covering standard and specialist demolition and asbestos surveying for domestic and non-domestic properties, split between North East sub-regions and national lots. Its initial term ended on 2 October 2026 and it is now running in its extension period to 2 October 2027.
Context & Use Case
Councils, housing providers and other public bodies use it to clear sites for regeneration, remove unsafe or surplus buildings, and commission asbestos surveys and analysis before refurbishment or demolition. Separate domestic and non-domestic asbestos lots reflect the difference between housing stock surveys and work on schools, offices and public buildings.

Suits demolition contractors and asbestos surveying and analytical firms working regionally or nationally. Applications for NEPO221 are closed and it is in its final extension year, so firms not appointed cannot join it, but the re-tender should come soon, ahead of 2 October 2027.
