Framework Description
NEPO202 Managed Remarketing of Vehicles and Plant is NEPO's framework for selling public sector organisations' used vehicles and plant. The appointed provider collects assets, prepares and stores them, sells them and returns the proceeds promptly. It is a single-lot framework, not a DPS, which started on 1 February 2025 and runs to 31 January 2029, with an option to extend to 31 January 2031.
Context & Use Case
Fleet managers in councils and other public bodies use NEPO202 when vehicles and plant reach the end of their working life. Instead of running their own auctions or sales, they hand the whole disposal process to a remarketing specialist, from collection to sale, which saves staff time and aims for a better return on each asset.
Scope of Services
Collection of vehicles and plant from the buyer's premises Preparation of assets for sale Secure storage pending sale Marketing and sale of vehicles and plant Prompt return of sale proceeds
Lots
Single lot
Who Can Apply
Suits vehicle and plant remarketing companies and auctioneers with collection and storage capacity. Applications for NEPO202 are closed, so firms not appointed cannot join until it is re-tendered, likely around January 2029 or, if extended, January 2031.
Buyer Benefits
Disposing of used assets is time-consuming for fleet teams. A managed service that collects, prepares, stores and sells vehicles and plant, with proceeds returned quickly, frees staff time and helps buyers achieve a fair market return with a clear audit trail.
Next Steps
Appointed providers should report sale returns and turnaround times clearly to buyers. Others should plan for the re-tender, gathering evidence of sale returns, audit processes and public sector clients, and look for direct council remarketing contracts in the meantime. Clear reporting on returns will be strong evidence at re-tender.
How Athena Can Help
NEPO202 is closed to new applications until at least 2029. Athena's remarketing framework search finds other fleet disposal and remarketing frameworks open now or due to open.
For direct council remarketing tenders, our bid/no-bid review helps you decide which are worth bidding, and our proposal writing team writes and checks the response, with a commission and pricing model that wins and stays profitable. We also check your submission for compliance and model your likely score against competitors.
