Framework Description
NEPO212 Support Services for the Development of the Built Environment is NEPO's framework for construction-related consultancy for public bodies in the North East. It has 13 lots, from architecture and engineering to cost consultancy, retrofit services, principal designers and clerk of works, under standard contracts including JCT, NEC and ACE. It runs to 18 December 2027, with an option to extend to 18 December 2028.
Context & Use Case
Councils, schools and other public bodies use NEPO212 to appoint consultants for construction, civil engineering, highways and transportation projects, from feasibility and design to project management and site supervision. Separate lots let buyers appoint specialists for each role, such as a quantity surveyor or principal designer, rather than relying on one firm for everything.

Who Can Apply
Suits architects, engineers, surveyors, project managers and other built environment consultants. Applications for NEPO212 are closed, so firms not appointed cannot join until it is re-tendered, likely around December 2027 or, if extended, December 2028.
Buyer Benefits
Public projects need the right specialist at each stage. Buyers value lots by discipline, consultants already appointed through a competitive process, and standard contracts such as JCT, NEC and ACE, which speed up appointment. A single framework across 13 disciplines also helps buyers assemble whole project teams quickly.
Next Steps
Appointed consultants should prepare for call-offs with discipline-specific case studies and fee proposals. Others should watch for the re-tender, likely during 2027 or 2028, and gather project references, team CVs and social value commitments for the lots they would target.
