Waste Management Services DPS

Live

Framework Description

The Waste Management Services DPS is run by NHS London Procurement Partnership for public sector bodies, such as hospitals and schools, buying waste collection, treatment and disposal. It replaced an earlier DPS that ended in November 2021 and is organised into five categories. It runs until 18 November 2028, with up to five 12-month extensions that could take it to 18 November 2033.

Context & Use Case

Buyers use it either to contract a single waste stream, such as clinical or confidential waste, or to let an integrated contract that covers everything from collection to final disposal. A waste innovation category gives a route to newer approaches. Each buyer runs its own competition among the suppliers qualified in the relevant category.

Who Can Apply

Suits waste contractors of every size, from specialist clinical, hazardous or confidential waste firms to integrated waste managers and innovators. As a DPS, it accepts new suppliers during its term, so firms that meet the criteria can apply now for the categories they cover.

Buyer Benefits

Waste carries a legal duty of care and environmental risk, especially for clinical and radioactive streams. The DPS lets buyers find qualified contractors fast, split or combine waste streams as needed, and add new suppliers and innovations over a long term.

Next Steps

Read the DPS page on the LPP website and choose the categories that match your permits and services. Prepare environmental permits, waste carrier registration and compliance evidence, then apply through LPP. Once admitted, watch for competitions from NHS and other public buyers in your categories.

How Athena Can Help

Waste suppliers need the right categories and a clean compliance record to get onto this DPS. Athena's application support for open DPSs picks the categories, writes the selection answers and checks every document before submission.

For individual competitions, our waste contract bid writing builds win themes on compliance, service reliability and carbon, and our social value bid support helps you win on more than price, whether you bid for a single waste stream or an integrated contract.
