Minor Works Trades and Associated Services DPS

Live

Framework Description

The Minor Works Trades and Associated Services DPS is an NHS North of England dynamic purchasing system for smaller construction projects and the trades that deliver them. It gives NHS trusts and other public sector bodies a quick, flexible way to hire contractors for minor works without running a full procurement each time. It runs until 23 February 2029 and admits new suppliers while it is open.

Context & Use Case

Estates teams use it when a job is too small for a major works framework but still needs a compliant route. Call-off contracts can be worth up to £5 million per project, and buyers can filter admitted suppliers by work category, location, accreditation and contract value before inviting them to compete. Suppliers have already passed a Stage 1 assessment against SSIP core criteria aligned to PAS91.

Scope of Services

Building and construction work, demolition and civil engineering Joinery, glazing, windows, plastering, painting, tiling and floor and wall coverings Roofing, resurfacing and steeplejack work Asbestos removal, treatment and analytical services Mechanical and electrical engineering, standby power and authorising engineers Lifts, hoists and escalators EV charging, solar panels and fibre optic installation Gritting and snow clearing

Who Can Apply

It suits SMEs, local builders and specialist trade contractors who work on smaller public sector projects. As a live DPS, it accepts applications while open, so suppliers can apply to join now rather than waiting for a re-tender, provided they meet the selection criteria.

Buyer Benefits

Minor works are frequent, low in value and often urgent, so buyers want a ready pool of vetted contractors rather than advertising each job. Competition within the DPS keeps prices tested, and because new contractors can join, trusts can encourage local SMEs to apply and widen their choice over time.

Next Steps

Read the DPS documents on the framework page, confirm which trades and areas you can cover, and submit a selection application with insurances, health and safety accreditations and relevant case studies. Once admitted, watch for competitions from trusts and respond quickly, as minor works requirements often have short turnaround times. The DPS runs to 23 February 2029.

How Athena Can Help

Because this DPS is open to new suppliers, Athena's DPS application service can handle your application end to end: confirming the trades and areas to apply for, preparing health and safety policies, insurances and case studies, and compliance-checking everything before you submit.

Once you are admitted, our bid writing team helps you respond to trust competitions quickly, and a bid/no-bid framework stops you spending time on minor works jobs you are unlikely to win or make money on.
