Digital Dictation, Speech Recognition and Outsourced Transcription Solutions 2

Live

Framework Description

Digital Dictation, Speech Recognition and Outsourced Transcription Solutions 2 (SBS10505) is NHS Shared Business Services' framework covering the full dictation and transcription range across six lots. It splits dictation and speech recognition into fixed and SaaS options, alongside outsourced transcription and combined solutions. It runs from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2027, with an optional two-year extension, and is not a DPS.

Context & Use Case

NHS trusts and wider public sector organisations use it to reduce clinical admin and improve document workflows. Pricing can be capital purchase, subscription or per-line SaaS, so a trust replacing an on-premise dictation system and one buying speech recognition licences for a single department can both find a fit. Call-off documents sit on the Customer Framework Agreement Portal.

Who Can Apply

It suits dictation and speech recognition vendors, transcription service providers and integrators offering combined solutions, with NHS or public sector references. Suppliers were appointed in the initial procurement and new applications are not accepted, so others must wait for the re-tender in 2027 or, if extended, 2029.

Buyer Benefits

Fixed, SaaS, outsourced and combined lots let buyers match the model to their IT strategy and budget, and per-line SaaS pricing makes it easy to scale licences up or down. The optional extension gives trusts a longer runway before they need to re-procure.

Next Steps

Appointed suppliers should prepare for call-offs with integration case studies, accuracy data and clear pricing across capital, subscription and per-line models. Others should watch the SBS10505 page on the NHS SBS site for extension decisions and re-tender notices from 2027, and build NHS deployment evidence in the meantime.

How Athena Can Help

For vendors on SBS10505, Athena's call-off bid support helps win call-offs by setting out integration, accuracy and support clearly, and by modelling how your capital, subscription and per-line prices compare with competitors.

If you are outside the framework, our framework re-entry planning plans for a re-tender in 2027 or 2029 and prepares evidence early, and our public sector opportunity assessment identifies standalone NHS dictation and transcription tenders worth bidding for now.
