Framework Description
Technology Enabled Care Services 2 is an NHS Shared Business Services framework for digital tools that let patients be monitored and supported outside hospital, including through virtual wards. It is a conventional framework, not a DPS, and runs until 10 October 2027. Six lots span remote clinical monitoring, alarm receiving centre platforms, digital alarms, activity monitoring, patient-controlled records and combined solutions.
Context & Use Case
NHS trusts and other contracting authorities use TECS 2 to buy technology that supports care at home, so patients can be monitored remotely and hospital beds are freed up. Typical purchases include remote monitoring for virtual wards, alarm and telecare platforms, and sensors that flag changes in a person's activity. The one-stop-shop lot suits buyers who want a single supplier across several of these elements.

Who Can Apply
It is built for digital health, telecare and remote monitoring providers, including suppliers of patient-held record systems. The supplier list was set at award, so firms not appointed cannot join during the term. Their next chance is the re-tender, likely to come as the framework approaches its 10 October 2027 end date.
Buyer Benefits
Virtual wards and home monitoring are now central to how trusts manage demand, and TECS 2 gives them a ready-made route to proven platforms instead of a full tender each time. Buyers can take a combined solution from one supplier or buy individual components, and they look for evidence that a solution reduces admissions and supports patient independence.
Next Steps
Appointed suppliers should focus on further competitions run by trusts and keep outcome data from live deployments up to date. Suppliers not on the framework should read the lot descriptions on the NHS SBS framework page, decide which lots match their product, and start preparing for the replacement procurement ahead of the 10 October 2027 end date.
