Framework Description

RM6387 Workforce Technology Systems is an NHS Workforce Alliance open framework, let under the Procurement Act 2023 and developed with NHS England, for workforce digital systems and services across the NHS and wider public sector. It runs from 3 November 2025 to 3 November 2033 in one-year terms, so new suppliers can join annually. Four lots cover systems, integration and deployment, consultancy, and overlay and support.

Context & Use Case

Trusts use RM6387 when replacing or extending rostering and bank systems, adding time and attendance tracking, or introducing vendor management to control agency use. Alongside the software, they can buy integration and interoperability work, design and deployment advice, and support services. An online catalogue lets buyers compare solutions, features and pricing from all appointed suppliers before choosing an award route.

Who Can Apply

It suits workforce software vendors, integrators, implementation partners and workforce technology consultancies with NHS or large public sector experience. As an open framework with one-year terms, it allows new suppliers to join annually, so vendors not yet appointed can apply at the next annual opening.

Buyer Benefits

The online catalogue lets trusts benchmark products, features and pricing across all appointed suppliers in one place, which shapes how vendors are shortlisted. Buyers can embed key metrics and service credits when renewing a workforce system contract, and the supplier base runs from global vendors to smaller niche providers.

Next Steps

Appointed vendors should prepare reusable evidence for call-offs: NHS implementation timelines, integration examples, adoption figures and support performance. Vendors not yet on RM6387 should check the framework page on the NHS Workforce Alliance website for the next annual opening, choose the lots that fit their offer, and prepare NHS deployment case studies and evidence that they meet NHS workforce technology standards.
