Framework Description
Northern Housing Consortium's Stairlifts & Lifting Equipment Framework 2026 is a four-year national agreement for stairlifts, hoists and other lifting equipment. In a single lot, it covers design and supply through installation, testing, servicing, maintenance and recycling. Consortium members buy through it via the NHC procurement team, and the supplier list is fixed for the four years.
Context & Use Case
Housing providers and councils use it to deliver disabled facilities and adaptations programmes, so older and disabled residents can stay safely in their own homes. It also covers testing and servicing of lifting equipment already installed, and recycling units when they are no longer needed so they can be refurbished and reused.

Lots

Who Can Apply
Suits stairlift and hoist manufacturers, distributors, installers and service engineers able to work nationally. As applications for this single-lot framework are closed and it is now in its term, suppliers not appointed cannot join until NHC re-tenders it, likely towards the end of the four-year period.
Buyer Benefits
Adaptations are time-critical: a resident waiting for a stairlift may not be able to use their own home safely. One framework for supply, fitting, servicing and recycling lets members order quickly, keep one supplier responsible for each unit throughout its life, and reuse recycled equipment to stretch adaptations budgets.
Next Steps
Suppliers holding a place should agree reporting and response standards with members early and keep installation lead times short. Others should plan for the re-tender, gathering evidence of lead times, servicing coverage and recycling rates, and ask the NHC procurement team when it is expected so the application is ready in good time.
How Athena Can Help
For appointed suppliers, Athena's bid support for call-offs helps you show members your lead times, national coverage and whole-life costs when they compare providers.
If you missed the 2026 tender, our adaptations tender advice helps you win stairlift and hoist contracts directly from councils and housing associations in the meantime, and our framework route-to-market planning sets out when this and other equipment frameworks open, so your application is ready when the window comes.
