Framework Description
Nottinghamshire County Council's Ageing Well Care Homes Framework buys placements for older people, typically aged 65 and over, in CQC-registered care homes across Nottinghamshire, including Nottingham City. It was set up under the light touch regime as a multi-round, open-admission framework, with Round 7 adding further providers. The council and NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Partnership can use it until 30 June 2027.
Context & Use Case
Placements are commissioned for older adults whose needs are best met in a care home, by the council's adult social care teams and by NHS partners. Repeated admission rounds let the council add capacity and new homes as the local market changes, so commissioners have more choice when placing someone close to family or in a home that suits their needs.
Scope of Services
Care home placements for older people, typically aged 65 and over CQC-registered establishments across Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City Placements for adult social care and NHS partnership commissioning
Lots
Single lot (framework is a multi-round open admissions framework; Round 7 added further providers)
Who Can Apply
Experienced care home providers with CQC-registered homes in the county or city. Applications are made by the provider organisation, not by individual homes, unless the provider runs a single home. The framework admits providers in rounds; check the framework page to see whether a further round opens before June 2027.
Buyer Benefits
Commissioners get placements with providers already checked for registration and quality, under agreed terms, which shortens the time from assessment to placement. Opening the framework in rounds keeps capacity growing and gives commissioners a wider spread of homes and localities to choose from.
Next Steps
Check the contract record on Nottinghamshire's ProContract page and the council's procurement pages for any further admission round. With the framework ending in under nine months, also prepare for its successor: gather current CQC ratings, quality evidence and staffing information for each home so you can respond quickly when Nottinghamshire goes to market.
